(KNZA)--A Monday evening trailer house fire in rural Denison leaves one dead.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, a passerby reported the fire, in the 15000 block of X.4 Road, around 7:50, with the Mayetta, Hoyt and Potawatomi Tribal Fire Departments rushing to the scene.
The structure was found to be engulfed in flames, but was brought under control shortly after 8:30. It was then that an unidentified person was found dead inside the trailer home.
An autopsy will be conducted.
The investigation is being handled by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office.
