(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners met with Dave Falley of Restoration & Waterproofing to review a solution to a water drainage problem on the north side of the Courthouse in Falls City on Tuesday. Board members will consider different options that were suggested.
Steve Riley and Curt Field with Prochaska and Associates updated Commissioners on the progress of the “Design Development” phase of the jail project. Quotes received for the geothermal test well and thermal conductivity test for the jail site were reviewed. The quotes will be considered during the November 25th Board meeting.
Sheriff Randy Houser requested the Board consider changes to the current resolution regarding the number of law enforcement deputies in the Sheriff’s Department. A resolution detailing the changes will be presented at a future meeting for consideration. Commissioners did approve the hiring of Leslie Simmons who resides in Brown County, Kansas as a dispatcher for the Sheriff’s Office.
The Board authorized advertising for sealed bids for the purchase of a new truck. Bids will be opened December 16th. Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert requested more information form Wardcraft Homes before he made any suggestions on their application to operate an oversize or overweight vehicle or load on a county road to a location two miles south of Rulo.
Commissioners voted to table a political subdivision tort claim filed by Carmen Morehead in reference to a may 14th, 2014 wreck she was involved in with a Richardson County dump truck driven by Stephen Randall on Highway 62.
