MOUND CITY, Mo. (AP) - Officials in northwest Missouri are investigating the collapse of a bridge that killed a driver.
Holt County officials say 45-year-old Cory Ingram of Mound City died Saturday after he was injured Friday when the wooden bridge collapsed and his tractor landed on top of him. The one-lane bridge is about two miles north of Mound City.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that the Missouri Department of Transportation inspects county bridges every other year. The bridge that collapsed, which was built about 1920, was last inspected in February and March.
Holt County Presiding Commissioner Mark Sitherwood says the most recent state inspections did not find any Holt County bridges that were considered dangerous.
The county has no timeline for completing its investigation.
