(KLZA)-- As reported previoiusly, Denver-based Gold Star Sausage Company will be opening a facility in Falls City in early 2015 creating 40 or more jobs.
Falls City EDGE Executive Director Beckie Cromer says Falls City was selected but there had been four finalists for site location. Cromer said she believes the former Mickelberry plant facility existing in Falls City was very beneficial and that building owner Ray Kasel will partner with Gold Star.
Company President Rick Rue says the company has been and still is a family owned business. Gold Star has outgrown their current facility in Colorado and are looking to grow our national distribution as well as capitalize on export.
Other Falls City industries are currently at employment highs, Cromer said Gold Star will add diversity to the industrial park by creating jobs requiring different skill sets than the other industries currently operating in Falls City.
The Gold Star Sausage Company is expected to pay wages of $10 - $12 per hour for entry level positions.
