MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Riley County police have charged a man with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in the face and neck at the Manhattan Public Library.
Thirty-year-old Samuel Dartez of Manhattan was arrested after a four-hour standoff with police on Thursday. Police say he was pulled over in Morris County but they didn't provide details about the standoff.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital in unknown but stable condition. Her relationship to Dartez is unclear.
No other injuries were reported.
It wasn't immediately clear if Dartez has an attorney.
