(KAIR)--The Atchison Police Department is investigating a burglary that has resulted in several valuable items being removed from a local residence.
According to Lieutenant Tim Stout, officers were called to a residence located in the 600 block of Mound Street just after 4:00 Saturday morning for a report of burglary. Upon arrival, they were told by the home's occupant, 24-year-old Atchison resident Prince Artey, that someone had entered the home forcibly through a window sometime between 7:30 Friday night and 4:00 Saturday morning.
Items taken include various electronic equipment, and several pieces of jewelry, including a watch valued at nearly $25,000. Total loss is estimated to be in excess of $30,000.
Police do not yet have any suspects in the case, but the search for leads continues.
