(KNZA)--The candidates seeking the Kansas 62nd District House seat met for a debate Thursday night, held at Hiawatha's Fisher Center and moderated by Matt Diehl, of the Seneca-based newspaper, The Courier-Tribune.
Republican incumbent Randy Garber and his Democratic challenger, Steve Lukert, fielded questions submitted by the public, with topics ranging from education spending and Governor Brownback's financial policies to abortion and smoking rights.
The debate audience was comprised of select supporters for the two candidates, with the public not invited to attend.
It was live streamed, and video recorded by Rainbow Communications, and will be broadcast on local cable prior to the November 4th election.
