(KTNC)--Mound City Aldermen renewed the city's health insurance policy with Blue Cross Blue Shield. After reviewing their options during this month's meeting, Aldermen elected to renew the current policy with an 8.9-percent premium increase.
Aldermen chose to stay with the Blue Cross policy rather than switch to an ACA policy.
In other action this month, Aldermen accepted the bid of $27,991 from Laukemper Motors for a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup for the Police Department. The cost does not include equipment and Police Chief John Panning said he was investigating options to purchase and install the equipment.
The vehicle will be delivered in four to six weeks.
Aldermen passed an ordinance to approve a settlement with CenturyLink. A portion of the settlement the city receives will go the the Missouri Municipal League.
Aldermen declined to move forward with a Safe Routes to School Grant application. Alderwoman Kristine Gibson told the council that the grant would cover 80-percent of the cost to replace sidewalks, with a 20-percent city match required.
Mound City's Fall Clean-up Day is scheduled November 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the swimming pool parking lot.
