Pawnee City Candidate not Interested in Running
10/14/2014

(KTNC)--One of the candidates on the ballot for a Pawnee City Council seat this November now says he's not interested in running for the position.

Gale Nutter had asked to have his name taken off the ballot, but the deadline has passed to have a name removed from the ballot.

Nutter was one of four candidates running for two open council seats in Pawnee City. Councilman Charlie Hatfield is running for another term. Mark Sunneberg Junior and John Wissler are also running for a council seat.

Current council president Deb Klein is running unopposed for Mayor.

In a letter to city officials, Nutter cited changes in his “day-to-day activity” as the reason why he was not interested in serving on the City Council.

The deadline for a candidate to have his or her name removed from the ballot was September 2nd. While Nutter's name cannot be taken off the ballot, he plans to decline the position if he is elected.
