(KAIR)--An Atchison man has died following a Monday afternoon roofing accident in Atchison.
Samuel Pierce, known affectionately as “Sammy,” was working at a house located in the 900 block of North 9th Street when he fell from the roof.
Transported to the Atchison Hospital, he was flown by helicopter for further treatment, but succumbed to his injuries later on Monday.
According to the obituary for 52-year-old Pierce, he lived in Atchison for five-years, relocating from Leavenworth.
Among his survivors are five brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service for Pierce will be Saturday morning, October 18th, at 11:00 at the Riverbend Bible Church in Atchison.
The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison is handling the arrangements.
