Fall Harvest Means Extra Roadway Caution
09/29/2014

(KNZA)--I would like to remind county residents that fall harvest is underway and we are asking  everyone to pay extra attention while driving.

Some of todays farm equipment is very large and can take up a good portion of the roadway so be cautious when topping hills or going through intersections where visibility is limited and do not drive faster that you can react.

Since many farmers leave their trucks, combines, tractor and other equipment in the fields overnight during this busy time, there is an increased potential for those looking to steal or vandalize.  We are asking that county residents be aware of any suspicious vehicles or person and if noticed to please contact local law enforcement at once with any descriptions you can provide.

Just recently we had several concerns called in during the middle of the day  over a vehicle parked on a rural road and upon our officers responding It was discovered one of the individuals had a warrant and was arrested.

We appreciate all of the cooperation we receive from county residents.
