(KTNC)--A Richardson County woman was not seriously injured in an accident on a northwest Missouri highway Friday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Natalie Auxier of Dawson was driving west on Highway 159, near Big Lake, when she swerved to avoid a bird that was flying near her vehicle. Auxier’s 2006 Nissan Xterra went off the north side of the highway and struck three road signs before coming to rest on its wheels in a ditch.
The State Patrol says Auxier was wearing a seat belt. She was transported by ambulance to the Heartland Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m. Friday.
