(KLZA)-- Following public hearings on the proposed budget and property tax request for the Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board Tuesday night, Board members approved the 2014-15 budget.
A General Fund Budget of approximately $7,380,000 was approved. The levy will increase approximately six-cents for the building fund, due to the addition being constructed at the Humboldt site.
The General Fund levy will be 76.4-cents per $100 of assessed valuation, the building fund levy will be 12.9-cents. The Qualified Capital Purpose Undertaking Fund levy will be 4.9-cents and for the original Humboldt, District 37 patrons there will be a three point five cent additional levy to pay for a previous bond. Three more bond payments remain for the former District 37 patrons.
The total levy is approximately $1.18 for HTRS patrons plus the additional three point five cents for the former Humboldt patrons. Superintendent Clint Kimbrough says the plan calls for the building fund levy will pay off $1.9-million of the cost of the new addition in four years.
Board members also discussed a meeting held recently with the Nebraska Association of School Boards group, which will help the HTRS District with a Superintendent search.
