(KAIR)--An Advanced Emergency medical Technician with Atchison County EMS is named the 2014 EMT of the year.
The honor for Stacie Vandeweerd comes from the Kansas Emergency Medical Services Association.
Vandeweerd received the recognition during the Association's “Honoring Our Own” awards banquet in Wichita on August 16th.
The award is presented annually to a Kansas EMT who has significantly contributed to EMS at the community, state or national level.
According to a press release from the association, Vandeweerd was nominated based on her dedication to her patients and her EMS service, advocacy for patients and peers and her open acceptance and training of her new staff.
