(KLZA)-- Former Richardson County Deputy Sheriff Joshua Nincehelser entered a plea of "not guilty" to charges in Richardson County District Court Tuesday.
Nincehelser is charged with a felony count of criminal mischief and misdemeanor charges of false reporting; official misconduct and obstructing government operations.
A jury trial date has been scheduled for October 22nd. Nincehelser is currently free on bond.
The charges stem from June 9th when Nincehelser reported to dispatchers, he had been shot while on duty by an unknown person, when he stopped to see if a motorist needed assistance on a county road. The 25-year old Nincehelser is alleged to have shot himself in the arm using a weapon issued to him by the Sheriff’s Office.
