USD 415 Board Holds Special Meeting
08/14/2014

(KNZA)--The Hiawatha Board of Education during a special meeting Thursday morning gave approval to the replacement of the boiler at the special education annex.

The board had agreed at their meeting Monday evening to help fund repairs to the boiler, but Superintendent Penny Hargrove says after the bid for a new small, more efficient boiler came in at only $19,950 it was decided that was the better way to go.

The Hiawatha School District will pay $12,450 of the cost, with Brown County Special Education Interlocal 615 paying the remaining $7,500.

Work will begin immedidately on the replacement of the boiler so it’s ready for the first cold spell.  The current boiler is no longer working.
