(KNZA)--Emergency repair work has forced the closure of the left westbound lane of the U.S. Highway 36 bridge over 165th Street, just one mile east of Wathena.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the closure happened at 11:00 Tuesday morning to allow repair work to begin immediately.
The right westbound lane over the bridge remains open, and motorist delays are unlikely.
A press release from KDOT says the left lane will remain closed until the amount of repairs necessary can be determined, and completed.
