(KAIR)--An Atchison man, facing multiple drug related charges, has agreed to a plea deal in the case.
44-year-old John Lewis appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon to enter a no contest plea to one count of possession of methamphetamine. In exchange for the plea, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of interfering with a law enforcement officer were dropped.
Judge Martin Asher accepted the plea, and set a sentencing date for September 8th.
Lewis was arrested on July 11th after officers with the Atchison Police Department were led to his location while investigating a nearby burglary. Lewis attempted to flee, but was soon apprehended.
Further investigation revealed what appeared to be methamphetamine in the vehicle Lewis had been in shortly before police arrived.
