(KAIR)--A two vehicle crash in Jefferson County late Monday morning sent two Meriden residents to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports it happened when 78-year-old Mary Hammond failed to yield at a stop sign while westbound on 74th Street in Meriden.
That caused her car to collide with a pick-up truck being driven southbound on K4 highway by 19-year-old Dalton Fiehler.
Both Hammond and Fiehler were transported to Topeka's Stormont-Vail for treatment of their injuries.
The Patrol's report classifies Hammond's injuries as disabling but does not clarify those suffered by Fiehler.
The report states that neither driver was buckled up when the wreck happened around 11:15.
