Improvement Projects at Indian Cave State Park

Indian Cave State Park

(KTNC)--Summer is a busy time at Indian Cave State Park near Shubert, with campers visiting from near and far.
A couple of projects could make the experience at Indian Cave even better. One project will benefit anglers and boaters. The park’s Jan Alexander says the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is installing a backwater, shallow habitat, area at the park.
It will allow people to fish or put a kayak or canoe in an area that's not along the Missouri River. Alexander says it should be finished in November.
Another project scheduled to start later this year is resurfacing the park’s roads.  Alexander says it's a big project, as all roads in the park will be resurfaced beginning this fall and continuing through next spring or early summer.
Indian Cave will host “Christmas in July” this Saturday. For more information about Indian Cave State Park, visit OutdoorNebraska.org.
