07/14/2014

(KTNC)--Mound City Aldermen approved two ordinances when they met last week.
One ordinance will increase the pay for the Mayor from $100 to $150 dollars per month and for Aldermen from $75 to $100 per regular meeting. The council pay for special meetings will remain at $50.  The pay increases take effect after the next election for each office.
The council also approved an ordinance to amend the fiscal year budget ending on June 30. The ordinance amends certain revenue and expenditure accounts.
Aldermen approved both the first and second readings of both amendments last week.
In other action, the council accepted Steve Johnson’s bid of $6,565 for the city’s John Deere 310-A backhoe.
The council agreed to have Art White and Associates conduct the city audit for the last fiscal year, at a cost of $4,000.
And the council made several appointments. Teresa Russell was appointed to fill the term of Adam Johnson on the Library Board. Johnson no longer lives in the city limits. Denise Newcomb and Charlie Clodfelter were reappointed to the Library Board.
Morris Heitman was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
