(KNZA)--Brown County crews are set to begin road oiling this week.
Road Foreman Herb Roland reported to County Commissioners Monday that they will start Wednesday.
About 90 to 100 miles of roadway will be chip and sealed this year.
Due to increased costs, the commission approved a rate of $500 per hour for labor and equipment charges for other entities that they chip and seal for.
In other business, Community Corrections Director Venice Sloan presented a new fiscal year 2015 budget for the adult side of community corrections due to an increased allocation from the state. Sloan says they will be receiving about $15,000 in additional funding. Commission Chairman Keith Olsen signed the new budget.
And Sheriff’s Deputy Kraig Pyle reported he will be leaving the sheriff’s department on June 30th. Justin Keller, who currently works for the Iowa Tribal Police Department, has been hired to replace Pyle.
