(KNZA)--A three-vehicle wreck on U.S 59 Highway in Atchison County Thursday evening sent an Atchison woman to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 7 o’clock about 7 miles southwest of Atchison at McPherson Road.
The Patrol says 28-year-old Melissa Pospisil was injured when a semi attempted to pass her pickup truck and a motor home in a no passing zone as she was trying to turn south onto McPherson Road. The semi struck her pickup, causing it to crash into the motor home.
Pospisil was transported to the Atchison hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The semi driver, from Auburn, Kansas, and driver of the motor home, from Wisconsin, were not hurt. Also a passenger in Pospisil’s vehicle, 32-year-old Effingham resident Gale Hewitt Jr., escaped injury.
