(KLZA)-- The Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer School Board voted Monday night to increase the pay rate for classified staff members 35-cents per hour. The vote was unanimous. During the May Board meeting a motion to increase the pay for classified staff 2.44-percent failed. Board members also voted to increase the daily pay for substitute teachers by $10 to $110 per day.
Suzanne Whisler with Educational Service Unit #4 in Auburn presented information on a new teacher evaluation process. Currently 17 schools across the state are doing a pilot program utilizing the process expected to be adopted statewide in about a year.
Discussion was also held on the HTRS Weighted Grades policy, which has been in place for a couple of years now. Upper level classes give some added value over a more basic class. The policy will be reviewed in July and could be tweaked at that time.
Board members also discussed briefly the Humboldt Site North Addition. The bids for the addition are to be opened June 19th at 2 p-m at the Music room in Humboldt.
Board members did approve allowing sick days to be donated to a certified staff member who was ill during the school. Only certified staff may donate sick days.
Student fees for the upcoming school year were approved at the same rate as last year and a number of Board policies were reviewed concerning students.
