(KAIR)--A Student Advocate Prevention Officer, associated with Atchison's USD 409, is arrested on 11 counts of unlawful sexual relations.
The truancy officer is identified as 29-year-old Heather Robinson, employed by the Leavenworth County Department of Juvenile Services, and assigned to the Atchison Public Schools. According to Superintendent Dr. Susan Myers, Robinson was placed on administrative leave by her employer on May 7th, and has had no contact with the school district, or its students, since that time.
The decision by Robinson's employer was apparently made based on an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Although authorities say the past alleged sexual activity with a 17-year-old male was consensual, state statute bars someone in Robinson's capacity to engage in such a relationship.
Robinson was arrested by the KBI late Friday and booked into the Atchison County Jail.
According to jail records, she has since been released on a cash or surety bond of $50,000.
