(KNZA)--A 28-year-old Holton man will spend nearly five years in prison following his sentencing Friday in a Jackson County courtroom.
Stephen Doud was sentenced in connection with his conviction for aggravated sexual battery
The Topeka-Capital Journal reports that Doud, who has an extensive criminal background, was originally charged with rape, criminal sodomy, criminal restraint and aggravated sexual battery.
He originally entered a not guilty plea to all charges but later changed his plea to guilty on the charge of aggravated sexual battery as his scheduled trial date approached.
The remaining charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
