(KAIR)--An investigation is launched following the discovery of a body inside a Leavenworth hotel room.
Hotel staff discovered the body of 53-year-old Leavenworth resident Robert Lynch in a room shortly before 11:30 Thursday morning. They quickly notified Leavenworth Police, who are investigating the case as a homicide.
Deputy Police Chief Major Dan Nicodemus says that upon investigation, it was apparent that Lynch had some injuries that were not accidental, but did not provide any other details regarding the injuries.
Nicodemus says that Lynch's 1989 Chevy S-10 pickup truck is missing, and is asking for the public's help in locating it. The truck is described as blue or gray in color, and has the temporary Kansas tag A228990. It may have a blue tarp strapped over its bed with bungee cords.
Nicodemus says anyone with information about the whereabouts of the missing truck should call 911 to report it to local law enforcement.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation into Lynch's death should call the Leavenworth Police Department at 913-651-2260.
