(KNZA)--Another continuance in the ongoing courtroom case of an elderly Horton man jailed for failure to make repairs to his business building.
88-year-old Kenneth Knudson was set to appear in Horton Municipal Court Monday afternoon to again address the condition of his downtown property, but the case was continued until June 9th. That follows a continuance granted when he was scheduled to appear last month.
It was in December of last year that Knudson was found in contempt of court for failing to move forward with court ordered repairs to his building. Judge Michael Riley, at that time, sentenced him to 24-hours in the Brown County Jail.
Since then, and due to the publicity arising from the case, a massive effort to renovate the City of Horton has gotten underway.
That includes assistance from celebrity businessman, and television host, Marcus Lemonis, as well as the launch of the official “Reinvent Horton” campaign, which recently received a $25,000 dollar donation from resident Bill Goins and his family.
Knudson's legal troubles date back to July of 2012 when, according to court documents, he was first informed of the condition of the building's back wall through registered mail. The city views the state of the structure as a danger to the public.
