(KLZA)--A 36-year-old Hiawatha man was arrested Saturday after a Falls City business reported possibly receiving counterfeit money.
Falls City Assistant Police Chief Jamie Baker says Andrew Lear was arrested and booked into the Richardson County Jail on a felony charge of forgery. Sapp Brothers Convenience Store contacted the Falls City Police Department about the suspect paying with what the cashier thought might be a counterfeit bill.
Lear’s vehicle was located at the SHOPKO Store in Falls City and he was taken in for questioning and later arrested. Authorities allege Lear may have paid for items at several Falls City businesses with counterfeit twenty dollar bills.
Baker said the investigation is ongoing.
