Nebraska Job Search Goes High-Tech
(KTNC) - The job hunt has gone high-tech in Nebraska.
State Labor Commissioner Cathy Lang says a new mobile app will make the information on the job search website, NEworks.gov, available on smart phones and tablets.
NEworks.gov is the Nebraska Department of Labor's job site that matches businesses with qualified candidates. Currently, 35-Thousand Nebraska jobs and 25-Thousand resumes are posted on NEworks.gov.
Meanwhile, the state of Nebraska is also courting military veterans.
A new recruiting campaign, called "The Good Life for Veterans," has been announced. It builds on the success of the Hiring Our Heroes events.
Lang says representatives from Nebraska will attend a number of military career fairs, including ones in Lawton, Oklahoma; Junction City, Kansas; and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lang says Nebraska is pitching both its available jobs and its quality of life to veterans.
The initiative grew out of surveys that showed Nebraska businesses have struggled to get quality, committed employees.
