(MSC News)--Three of the planned local area visits by former U.S. Senator Bob Dole could now be perceived as campaign stops by U.S. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.
Jenkins plans to join Dole when he visits Atchison, Holton and Lawrence next week.
She will not be in attendance when the Kansas native visits other local locations including Hiawatha, Troy and Leavenworth.
Jenkins is seeking re-election in the 2nd District of Kansas.
Dole announced his plan to tour communities in his native state of Kansas earlier this week.
The former Kansas Senator and 1996 Republican presidential nominee will visit Lawrence, Holton, Hiawatha and Troy on Tuesday. In Lawrence, he will appear at the facility named in his honor, the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at 10:00. He will be at the Jackson County Senior Center in Holton from 2:45 to 3:45; Fisher Center in Hiawatha from 4:20 to 5:30 and Troy Community Center from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
On Wednesday, Dole will make stops in Atchison and Leavenworth. He will be at Jerry's Again restaurant from 10:30 until 11:30 that morning and at Leavenworth's Heritage Center from 12:15 to 1:30 in the afternoon.
On May 12th, Dole will visit Seneca and Marysville, but times and locations are not yet confirmed.
