onBID ACCEPTED FOR NEMAHA CO ROAD OVERLAY PROJECT 4/15/14  GB/HW

(KMZA)--A Nemaha county road improvement project is moving forward.

The Nemaha County Commission on Monday accepted a bid from Hall Brothers of Marysville to overlay the Goff-Oneida Road this summer at a cost of $1.1 million.

Commissioner Gary Scoby says a two-inch overlay will be put on the road from U.S. 36 to Goff, which is a distance of 12 miles. Commissioners said the bid was very competitive, so they decided to accept it.

In other business, a bid was accepted for the purchase of a new patrol car for the sheriff’s department.

Sheriff Rich Vernon presented bids from three dealerships.  The commission voted to accept the low bid from Nemaha Valley Motors in Seneca for the purchase of 2014 Dodge Charger at a cost of $18,000 with the trade-in of a 2010 Dodge Charger with more than 100,000 miles.
