(KAIR)--A vehicle that had been reported stolen last weekend in Atchison has been recovered.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, the 1998 Ford Taurus did not go far. It was recovered in the 800 block of Spruce, just a few blocks away from where it had been parked in the 700 block of Spring.
Wilson says the approach officials are taking at this point is that since there have been several vehicle burglaries in that area recently, the suspect or suspects may have found the keys in this vehicle, and drove it several blocks where they could go through it undetected.
So far, there are no leads as to who may be involved in this theft, but police are continuing to investigate.
