Atchison Co Storm Sirens Ready For Season
04/03/2014

(KAIR)--Atchison County is all the safer now that storm sirens are ready for the worst of conditions.

That comes as County Commissioners this week approved an expenditure of  $2,340 for the installation of back-up batteries for three of Atchison County's emergency alert outdoor sirens.

County Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter says that means should the power go out, as strong storms batter the area, the sirens will still be able to be sounded.

Blue Valley Public Safety, of Grain Valley, Missouri, came to Atchison County Wednesday to complete the battery replacement process.
