(KAIR)--A large Jefferson County party turned violent after the armed host allegedly becomes angry when someone talked to his girlfriend, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig. “He actually shot two guns. One of them was a shotgun that he shot up in the air. Then he took a rifle and shot and it hit a metal grain type trailer and it ricocheted and hit a juvenile in the leg.”
Sheriff Herrig says 18-year-old Clayton Barngrover is accused of the shooting that happened at his rural Grantville residence, located at 5990 35th Road, last week. “It was a large party. We got the call about 2:30 in the morning on March 30th. It ended up being a large fight, shots were fired.”
The juvenile who was struck by the ricocheted shot was not seriously hurt due to distance.
Barngrover, whose booking photo shows him bruised and battered, apparently suffered the injuries when party goers retaliated against him for the alleged shooting.
He was the only one arrested, taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and reckless great bodily harm or disfigurement.
Barngrover is currently free on $50,000 bond.
