(KLZA) -- Good news for Falls City.

The Griffon Coroporation, a New York based firm and owner of Ames True Temper, has announced the company’s plant in Falls City will remain open.

In March of 2013, the company announced it would cease operations at their Falls City plant as well as four other plants and consolidate to one location in Pennsylvania. The local plant was to close by the start of 2014.

According to an article in the quarterly EDGE newsletter, Ames True Temper will remain open in Falls City and future plans call for continued growth and capital investment.

Ames True Temper is a leading manufacturer of striking tools.  When the announcement was made about the closing there were 37 employees at the Falls City facility.  Currently there are 23 employees still with the company locally and they are looking to add more employees.

Company officials are pleased with the reliability of workers in the area citing their strong work ethic.
