(KTNC) - A blown tire is blamed for a motorcycle crash on I-29 south of Rock Port, Missouri that injured a Kansas man.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred shortly before 3:30 Friday afternoon.
The Patrol says 54-year-old Billy Newman of Wichita was driving his 2007 Harley-Davidson northbound when the rear tire blew out. Newman lost control of the bike, which skidded off the east side of the road and overturned, ejecting Newman.
Newman was taken by ambulance to the Fairfax Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Atchison County Sheriff’s Department and Rock Port Fire Department assisted the Missouri State Patrol at the scene.
