(KLZA) -- Richardson County Commissioners met with Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt Tuesday. He presented the listing of 2012 distress warrants on uncollected personal property taxes and the listing of tax sale certificates that have been advertised and will be offered.
Duerfeldt also requested the Commissioners approve the striking of two distress warrants determined to be uncollectible. Commissioners will consider the request next week.
Correspondence concerning the Courthouse Restoration Project from architect, Dennis Lyon was reviewed. Commissioners will schedule a meeting with the contractor, Ed Parr of Restoration and Waterproofing Contractors to discuss a possible change order for additional work determined to be necessary with the terra cotta tuck pointing to complete the project with an added cost of nearly $18,700.
Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Dixon presented the final draft of the Interlocal Agreement with Nemaha Natural Resources District and Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe and Richardson counties for a mitigation plan. The Board voted to approve the agreement.
The quarterly Richardson County Safety Committee meeting was conducted. Sheriff Randy Houser noted the radio system still is in need of improvement. Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert said his department has also experienced some difficulties with the radio system.
Discussion of making a drop box for the public to use to drop off prescription drugs to be destroyed by the Sheriff’s department was held.
