(KNZA)--A Bern man escapes injury after crashing his plane while attempting to land at the Sabetha Municipal Airport.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 56-year-old Daniel Stallbaumer was attempting to land his Piper single engine plane shortly after 4:15 Tuesday afternoon when he lost control of the aircraft due to mechanical reasons. The plane went off the runway and struck a light pole.
Stallbaumer was the lone occupant on the plane.
