(KAIR)--An alleged case of rape, dating back to last year, has landed an Atchison man in jail.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says his department has been investigating the case for the past week, brought to their attention by the Kansas Department of Child and Family Services. That happened after the agency received a report that the alleged rape had occurred at an Atchison residence last fall.
The victim is identified only as a 13-year-old.
The police investigation led to 19-year old Richard Scott, arrested midday Wednesday. He was transported to the Atchison County jail, where he remains, facing one count of rape.
