(KTNC) -- Time is short to order conservation trees from the Nemaha Natural Resources District, if you want the NRD to plant your trees. Minimum orders of 200 trees are due by December 31.
The Nemaha NRD has seven varieties of conifers, eight deciduous trees, and 11 types of shrubs from which to choose.
Those who will plant their own trees have until March 1, or until inventories are depleted, to place orders.
Orders must be placed in lots of 25 per species, with a cost of 90-cents per seedling plus a $2.50 handling charge on all orders except those planted by the NRD. NRD machine planting costs one-dollar per tree.
Orders will be available in April.
To order trees, request NRD planting services, or for more information, contact the Nemaha NRD at 402-335-3325, or visit the website www.nemahanrd.org.
