(KAIR)--An Atchison man was injured early this ( Friday ) morning after wrecking his car while being pursued by authorities.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Matthew Phillip Roles was westbound on Main Street in Atchison at a high rate of speed and was attempting to elude authorities. The Patrol says Roles was traveling too fast to go around a curve and lost control of his 1992 Lincoln Town Car on Pratt Road, just north of Main Street. The vehicle went into a ditch where it struck an embankment and rolled shortly before 12:30.
Roles was transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment of injuries. Four passengers in the vehicle were not hurt, with one of those passengers running from the vehicle.
No additional details were immediately available.
