(KTNC) - Campers will have to pay a little more to connect their RVs to electricity at a couple Nemaha NRD parks.
The NRD Board of Directors has approved an increase in for campsites with electrical hook-ups from $10 to $12 per night at Kirkman’s Cove Recreation Area and Iron Horse Trail Lake. The increase is effective January 1.
The increased rates will allow the district to maintain the sites and recoup the cost of the electricity.
There will be no increase for vehicle entry permits, which are required at the parks in addition to the electrical hook-up fees.
The NRD Board to the action during its meeting last week.
In other business, the board approved ten permits for irrigation wells. Permits were approved for four landowners in Richardson County, two in Johnson County, and one in Otoe County.
Lisa Beethe and Orval Gigstad were appointed to a committee to prepare a slate of nominees for board officer positions in 2014. The board will select its officers during its January meeting.
Board member Mike Speece was presented a certificate for 20 years of service on the NRD Board, and NRD Field Representative Steve Bartels received a certificate for 25 years of service on the staff.
And the NRD Board approved the audit report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2013.
