(KAIR)--The Atchison Kiwanis club held their annual Halloween parade this past weekend and the event drew a fair amount of people coming out to enjoy the festivities. Paul Komarek (Co-Mark) was the master of ceremonies for the parade, and he was happy to announce that there were some pretty deserving winners for the float competition. Third place went to Goosebumps Horrorland. Second place went to bank of Atchison, and the top prize was awarded to Highland Community College Technical Center Auto Collision repair.
One special youngster even had a chance to take part in the parade in a big way. Emma Wiggs, winner of the Kiwanis Junior essay contest had the chance to ride in a Kiwanis float during the parade.
The Kiwanis club was celebrating their 93rd birthday with the parade, which had the theme “storybook frights”. A costume contest was held after the parade, on the Atchison public library lawn.
