(KLZA) The State of Nebraska is conducting a study of 911 services within the state. The purpose of the study is to gather information relative to current 911 service as the state begins to transition to next-generation 911 services. Next-Generation 911 services provide additional means through which persons can reach 911 call centers, such as through text-messaging.
As part of the study, public meetings are being held throughout the state to allow individuals, local governmental officials, and any other interested parties to provide input into or to ask questions about the study or next-generation 911 services. A public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 3:00 p-m to 7:00 p-m in at the Falls City Public Library, 1400 Stone Street, Falls City.
If auxiliary aids or reasonable accommodations are needed for attendance at the meeting, please call the Commission at (402) 471-3101.
For people with hearing/speech impairments, please call the Commission at (402) 471-0213 (TDD) or the Nebraska Relay System at (800) 833-7352 (TDD) or (800) 833-0920 (Voice). Advance notice of at least seven days is needed when requesting an interpreter.
