(KNZA)--A 31-year-old Hiawatha man is in custody, facing burglary and theft charges.
Brandon Sweet was arrested last week by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for one count each of burglary, felony theft and misdemeanor theft.
Sweet is accused of breaking into a machine shed at 1923 215th Street in rural Hiawatha. Taken were an ATV, chainsaw, socket set and gasoline. The loss was placed at more than $1,000, but less than $25,000.
Sweet is also accused of stealing two cell phones belonging to another individual.
A preliminary hearing in the case is set for Wednesday.
