(KAIR)--A 41-year-old man found injured on railroad tracks in Buchanan County, Missouri late Friday morning is identified as a resident of the Brown County community of Horton.
An eyewitness passing the “Y” intersection, near Rushville, reported the man to authorities around 11:30.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and he was transported by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph.
Buchanan County Sheriff's Deputy Sarah Hardin says it's believed the man illegally boarded the train near Horton and then jumped off at the location where he was found.
It's estimated that the train, at that time, was traveling 51 mph.
At last check, the man, whose name has not yet been released, remained hospitalized at Heartland.
