(KNZA)--A bid letting has been set next month for the resurfacing of a Doniphan County road, south of Denton.
Engineer Dave Beach with Schwab-Easton presented the county commission Monday with plans for the resurfacing of a 1 ½ mile stretch Castleton Road in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Transportation Federal Funds Exchange Program.
The commission voted to approve the plans as drafted and set an October 7th bid letting for the project.
In other business, representatives of Rainbow Communications presented the commission with a proposal to change the local telephone carrier for county departments from Centurylink to Rainbow, with the exception of 911 and the sheriff’s department.
The commission was told the county would see an estimated savings of 27-hundred dollars annually.
The commission voted to enter into two-year agreement with Rainbow, with no price increase to take place within the contract period.
