(KNZA)-- Efforts to construct a new concession stand/restroom facility at the Hiawatha High School football stadium have received a big boost.
TransCanada Corporation has donated $30,000 to the Hiawatha Education Foundation to go towards construction of the facility. The donation was made during the fall sports rally held at the high school last week.
With the donation, nearly $138,000 has been raised for the project. About $250,000 is needed.
The new concession stand will include an indoor ticket booth, restroom facilities and a storage area for stadium supplies.
TransCanada owns and operates both a natural gas pipeline system in the area and the Keystone Oil Pipeline, which began operations in 2010.
