Fultz says it was King's encouragement that led him into his career as an art director for a marketing company in St. Joseph.
The evening's activities, sponsored by the Atchison Art Association, also included the opening of the Max King lifetime retrospective show.
King's art will be on display at the Muchnic Gallery through September 29th.
